This cord is very durable.  It has a 70 pound strength.  It is a flat, wide thread that can be split into thinner pieces by pulling it apart.  A 4-ounce cone is approximately 150 yards.

FINISHING OFF THE ENDS...These Are The Kinds of Pieces to Choose From:
View in our FINDINGS section
Clamps and Ribbon/Bar Clamps
Coil Clasps
Cord and Chain Ends
Crimp Ends
End Caps
Foldover Clasps
Hook & Eye Clasps (some have larger openings on each end to slip a thicker cord through)
Adjustable End Caps For Thick Cords

You can also use raw or plated WIRE to wire-wrap your own ends. It's not that difficult to do.
1. Cut a piece about 2 1/2" long, and bend it into a U-shape
2. Cradle the cord within the U, so that you leave what will be the "loop" (bottom of the U-shape) open
3. Wrap another piece of wire around and around this U-shape. Keep the wire tight. Keep each successive coil close to the previous one.
Go down about 3/4" - 1". Then cut all the tails/ends off.
4. Tuck in any sharp ends underneath the coil, using a pliers.
