Fire-polish glass beads are made in the Czech Republic, and have at least one facet on them.  These glass beads are pressed in a mold, then machine faceted and polished.  The fire-polishing technique produces a scratch-resistant bead with slightly rounded facets.  In this alcove, we feature round, faceted beads.  Another type of fire-polish bead is a 5-sided bead called a satina bead.

These beads are widely used in Y-necklaces or lariats, as well as other jewelry.  The faceting and finishing effects of these beads helps make them shine.
